Cleveland Heights is a historic streetcar suburb in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. As of the 2020 census, its population was 45,312. This made it the eighth largest city in the Greater Cleveland area and the 20th largest city in Ohio. If you’re visiting Cleveland Heights, there are several places to visit.

West Side Market

The West Side Market is one of Cleveland’s oldest indoor/outdoor market spaces. It is located on West 25th Street near Lorain Avenue in the Ohio City neighborhood. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. On December 18, 1973, the West Side Market was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

This market offers a wide variety of local, regional, and international foods. It is a favorite among tourists and locals. Whether you are a meat lover or a vegetarian, there is something for everyone in the West Side Market. You can grab a bite from Frank’s Bratwurst, Crepes Deluxe, or Kim Se Cambodian Cuisine. There are also many places to pick up picnic supplies and stock up on snacks. For cheese, you can stop at The Cheese Stop or the D.W. Whitaker Meats. You can also stop by K&K Bakery for some apple fritters, macaroons, and cannoli.

The West Side Market in Cleveland Heights has seen better days. The city council commissioned a consultant to study revitalization options and come up with recommendations for the market’s future. As a result, the market was designated a Great Public Place by the American Planning Association in 2008. The American Planning Association endorsed the consultant’s recommendations and persuaded the City Council to approve legislation that would ensure the market’s future.

One of the latest additions to Cleveland’s West Side Market is Jack Frost Donuts. The market opened its doors on Saturday, and customers can now enjoy a selection of doughnuts, pastries, and cake pops as well as coffee drinks. The food court’s newest addition is a great place for a sweet or savory snack, or even for lunch or dinner.

The West Side Market opened on November 2, 1912. The market is one of the oldest continuously operating municipal markets in the United States. It replaced the Pearl Street market, which had operated on the opposite corner since the 1840s. The market was built to serve the burgeoning immigrant population of the early 20th century. As the only public market in the city that is still open to the public, West Side Market is one of the most unique shopping experiences in the city.

Little Italy

Mayfield Road, the main artery of Little Italy, is lined with Italian bakeries, pizzerias and elegant trattorias. You can also find art galleries and Italian food and wine stores. There are also colorful murals depicting stories of Italian immigrants. There is even a Garfield Monument, marking the burial site of the twentieth US President.

The Italian community in Cleveland has been active in the area for over a century. In the late 1800s, many Italian immigrants settled in the Mayfield-Murray Hill area, working in the nearby marbleworks. Joseph Carabelli, a skilled stonemason, founded the Lakeview Marble Works in this area. In 1911, Little Italy had a population of 96% Italian-born residents, compared to only 2% of the city’s population. Many of the residents were involved in trades such as lacework, embroidery, and garmentmaking. Today, Little Italy is one of the oldest Italian neighborhoods in Cleveland.

The neighborhood’s main draws are its proximity to a college campus and the relatively safe environment. It also has a large percentage of young families and professionals. Approximately 80% of its residents work in white-collar jobs, including management, education, and sales. The rest of the population is made up of professionals in other sectors.

While many other Cleveland neighborhoods have their own unique attractions, Little Italy has a particularly unique feel. This neighborhood boasts a diverse collection of restaurants and Italian-American shops and galleries. The area is also home to one of Cleveland’s oldest festivals – the Feast of the Assumption. At this festival, Italian food is served on the street, and carnival rides are set up behind the Holy Rosary Church.

The Little Italy neighborhood is not the most kid-friendly neighborhood in the city, but there are a few attractions in the neighborhood that are free and fun for kids. The neighborhood has many unique attractions for families to enjoy. You can even take a self-guided walking tour to explore the area on your own.

One popular late-night haunt in Little Italy is Lounge Leo. This cozy bar has a cozy neighborhood atmosphere, with dark colors that let the flavors shine.
